Who am I?
I am the teacher for the Exceptional Children's program in a self-contained, adapted curriculum classroom at West Davidson High School. I began my teaching career at age 33 after having three children and I have been teaching for 21 years, with 17 years in the Exceptional Children's program.  I grew up in the West Davidson area, graduated from West Davidson about 100 years ago, and just returned to West as a teacher in the fall of 2016.  I have four children, two who are teachers in the county, one who is a graphic artist and one who is a senior in high school. I also have 4 perfect grandchildren!
What do I do?
As a teacher at West Davidson I work in a self-contained setting with a special population of students.  I plan and teach all grade levels in all subjects on a daily basis, geared toward the individual needs of each student.  Inclusion is my goal, and to that end, I am also the club sponsor for the Unified Champion Schools Club which is an inclusive club which engages schools to create climates of inclusion, acceptance, respect, and human dignity for all students with and without intellectual disabilities.  I work hard to stay involved in as many aspects of the school environment and encourage my students to do the same.
